Vermont HIV Advocacy Day Spreads Awareness in Statehouse

Earlier this week, over 30 HIV advocates gathered in the Statehouse to meet with lawmakers and Vermont Governor Jim Douglas to outline our concerns, questions, and perspectives regarding Vermont’s network of HIV care and prevention programs.  Having met with many key decision-makers, testified in front of crucial committees, and shared personal stories with our Governor, we left Montpelier feeling the day was a success, albeit one of many such days to come.  There is still much work to do!

In the next week, we will be disseminating talking points, advocacy tools, and other resources so that our allies can communicate directly with those who are deciding on critical legislation, prospective budget cuts, and other matters critical to HIV services.  Keep checking our blog and website (vtcares.org) for more information, and thank you in advance for your help!
